This festival celebrates Canada’s multiculturalism through one of the most vibrant cultures in the world. Through traditional music, dance and food, Brazilian Day Canada gives everyone, no matter what their cultural background a chance to be Brazilian for a day.
Last year more than 30 000 people gathered at Yonge-Dundas Square transforming the heart of Toronto into an ocean of green and yellow.
This year’s event will be even larger. Due to the high volume of people predicted for this year’s festivities, a very short portion of the world’s longest street, Yonge Street, will be closed to accommodate the dancing crowds. The extra space around the venue will allow people to sample traditional Brazilian dishes and products. Yonge Street closure is from Dundas St. to Shutter St.
Globo Television, the fourth largest network in the World and the powerhouse behind this international celebration, will bring the Brazilian superstar Ivete Sangalo and the television host Serginho Groisman to keep the party rolling.
Brazilian Day Canada is a free event. However, there are limited number of tickets available for those who wish to be closer to the action. Known as "Camarote", these tickets include a special Brazilian Day Canada T-shirt, access to the only licensed area, private restaurant and washrooms during the event.
This will be Ivete Sangalo only Canadian concert. Get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
